Moving On

As of today, we are true Seattleites. This is our new view!

Our last move was 13 years ago, the longest I’ve lasted anywhere, so it’s time for a new adventure. We’re going to try fitting into just 2 bedrooms, with lots of options within walking distance, and excellent bus service, to back that up and extend our reach.

Change is exciting to plan, but bittersweet to experience. We’ll miss our neighborhood and friends, our easy access to all the social structure we’ve built up on the Eastside, and our east-facing peaceful view.  And will probably spend even more time in the car going back for visits, errands, and appointments.

We’re looking forward to having less stuff — lots of donations & reallocations in the past month! — and being able to get to the more distant parts of Seattle more easily. I could actually buy my vegetables from Pike Place Market! So from now on, my views of nature are going to have lots of architecture in them. Working on a guest room, when it’s not occupied by a visiting boy, in case anyone might need such a thing…
