We don’t normally hope to see the sun in Seattle for a while, but this year, to be told to stay indoors as well? Wow, it’s been tough.
Washington had the first case in the U.S. and was hit hard when it spread to a local elder care facility. The math behind an exponential spread of a virus that doesn’t always show up as symptoms for days has been sobering. This is not how Dave & I wanted to use our math education, people.
Dave tried a beard for a while, but realized it makes him touch his face too much! He found the condo a little tight, and with too many work meetings to hold online, he set up shop down the street at his rental space.
I can still make art at the condo — on a small desk setup, or on my computer. I’m also connecting us all up with friends remotely, with video meetings. See what I’m up to on Instagram.
Bruce and Dave got in a quick trip before everything closed down. Dave checked on his mother, and Bruce visited McGill in Montreal, to aid in his graduate school decision. Since then, they’ve both been quarantining to be safe.
Between that and the economic slowdown, Bruce has offered his dog daycare shifts to anyone else who needs them. His main project is to make a new cocktail every day (with a few breaks so as not to get too attached), and he’s thinking about joining the millions of others in baking for the first time, as well as learning a new piano song.
Let us know what you’re up to, and how we can connect virtually over the next long weeks.
