Hello New Beach House (Parts)

Today, the first of the modules for our built-offsite beach house arrived on Guemes. Dave couldn’t wait to see the process, and was off before dawn to ride the ferry along with the delivery trucks.

First, the truck and module had to get onto the ferry. They managed to time it for a high tide, so that the ramp down to the ferry would be as shallow an angle as possible. It fits, but not much else does! Apparently, they had room for our intrepid reporter Dave.

Our neighbor across the road had just decided to play with his drone camera, and caught the second module arriving.

This great shot shows the lot being prepared, on the left. The garage is still there, with a new roof, and the foundation is ready for module placement. Then, across the road is a storage container of all our stuff, and the first module being parked.

Our kitchen and sunroom, left, and our guest bedroom and office, right.

Both modules are now waiting for their buddies — two more come tomorrow, along with the crane to place them. You can see a bit of the planned siding material here, but lots is left to do, once the modules are joined back together. We’ll need all the usual plumbing and electrical connections, a bit of patching inside & out at the join points, plus a deck and a roof, before we can call it good. But what an exciting, long-awaited day!
