As a whole, the trip was a great idea and a really good fit for our family and itinerary. The rig didn’t drive too badly, though we were certainly the slow vehicle staying right. We could have used a bit more planning, like for time zones! and taking everyone’s great advice to do fewer miles a day is something we will do better at next time.
Bruce and I did a lot of reading at this table, and some game-playing and snacking too! At night, it became the office with two laptops trying to find any wireless available. But it helped us stay in touch, keep this site updated, and we didn’t get too far behind on issues back home.
The kitchen worked really well: the burners were fast, double sinks made dishes easier, and that little sliver of counter was better than nothing. The fridge and freezer were plenty big, though best at short, small items.
Being able to move around and even get a bit more sleep was a great advantage. We usually left way too early, breaking up camp between 6 and 7 a.m., for Bruce to get a full night’s sleep, so he used the dinette or even the bed to catch up.
We had a great time suddenly noticing all the types of RVs out on the roads with us, and debating the merits of each. Next time, Dave thinks it would be a hoot to get hold of a Class A motorhome aka a bus! We just need one with a bunkbed for the boy… :)
