Anniversary Wanderings

With our anniversary overlapping a work day, and the weather hard to predict, we went for a quick road trip around Puget Sound.

I’d had an idea about visiting our local military forts, now state parks, known as the Triangle of Fire. The idea was sparked by social media photos, and then a writeup from Seattle Met, but I hadn’t quite understood HOW historical they were: built in the 1890s!!

We explored old battery forts, checking out the view from atop them, the ambiance on the main level, and even the spooky sub-level storage rooms.

The trip, well-bracketed by relaxing ferry rides, was a great way to tour with less stress. We didn’t even need to charge our electric car!

And we had lots of time to talk over what the last 32 years have meant for us, and how we intend to greet our coming years.
