The theory was that a bit of greenery in our Vancouver view would make it feel more like home. Now that we’ve put it into practice: yes, it’s true!
First, we ordered the tall rectangular planters from Green Theory, a local place with decent sustainability creds. Then, through connections, we found a gardener willing to help us set it all up. In the meantime, we went shopping for a few more pots — the round ones, followed by one more order from Green Theory, for the square ones to match the rectangles.
This week, the gardener came back to fill the smaller pots, and it looks fantastic! We’ve got grasses, native plants, maples, and colour variations, in the leaves now, and to come with flowers soon. Looking out the window, to see natural shapes moving in the wind, really does rest the eyes, and even distract a bit from the railyards. It’s feeling much more like a lived-in home.
