We finally had some beautiful art framed!
First, Dave’s mum sent us some lovely selections from First Nations artists that she’d collected over the years. Then, I finally found a great new framer up in Whistler. (The previous shop had to close, due to high rent.)
This piece, Family of Ducks, is by Mel Madahbee, dated October 1983.
This next piece is magnificent as a framed piece. Look at those proud faces! It’s a limited edition print (99/200) by Martin Panamick (1956-1977) from 1976.
The last piece, “To be part of the gift” is an artist’s proof by Michael Robinson. It looks great over the hall table.
All 3 of these artists were considered part of the Woodland School.
More information about the first two artists can be found here on the Native Art Manitoulin site.
Thanks, Margo, and happy birthday!
